April Happenings

The turnout for "The Real Dirt on Farmer John" was really good. There were a few members of Slow Food Delta Diablo but a lot of non-members. It gave us an opportunity to introduce our movement and talk about our goals.

Our next film will be FRESH on Saturday, April 30 at 6 pm at the Walnut Creek Library on Broadway. Please join us. FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

Please also remember Third Thursday on April 21st, 6 pm at Nibbler's in Pleasant Hill. We will have an informal gathering for whoever would like to show up, share a drink or just hang out with other people interested in Slow Food. Both events are free!

  1. This movie is a must see - for anyone who wants to be inspired and motivated to follow their heart, their passion, their joy... to keep an open mind, learn from others, follow your instincts to where you know not the destination.
Thank you for sharing with us, Gail. Looking forward to the next one.
